The FHODS Archive exists to preserve, celebrate, and share the rich theatrical heritage of the Folkestone-Hythe Operatic and Dramatic Society — one of the United Kingdom's oldest amateur theatre companies, with a history stretching back to 1902. Our mission is to create a comprehensive, freely accessible record of every production, performer, director, and creative contributor who has helped shape over a century of theatre-making at The Tower Theatre in Folkestone. Through photographs, playbills, posters, cast lists, and production notes, we bring this history to life for current members, former participants, and anyone with a love of amateur theatre.

We believe that every performance deserves to be remembered — not just the leading roles, but the stage managers, choreographers, producers, and the countless volunteers who make live theatre possible. The FHODS Archive is a place where their contributions are documented and honoured.

This archive is a community effort, built and maintained by those who care about FHODS and its legacy. We welcome contributions, corrections, and memories from past and present members, and we are committed to continuing this work — steadily and collaboratively — until every chapter of our story is told.

The curtain never truly falls on a performance that is remembered.
