Foreword
Welcome to our magical production of Aladdin! Whether you're here for the first time or are a panto veteran, I'm thrilled you've chosen to join us on this wild, fun-filled adventure into the heart of Arabia and panto-land!
Pantomime is all about coming together, and we've had a blast combining the talents of our cast, crew and creatives to put on a spectacular show filled with dazzling costumes, crazy props, magical sets and vibrant choreography. I'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this production together, both on stage and behind the scenes, as well as our partners and families who selflessly support us as we spend the festive season in our second home.
This is a very special year for us as it marks 50 years of FHODS' pantomimes. A few of our members, Anne Mortimer and Charmian Heselden, have delved into the archives (and the memories) to offer a fascinating insight into half a century of pantomimes. Oh yes, they have! After reading about the challenges of setting up a production at other venues, I'm very relieved that we've been able to create Aladdin here at The Tower Theatre, our fabulous home for the last 16 years.
So, sit back, clap, cheer and boo to your heart's content! At its core, Aladdin is a story about believing in yourself, embracing adventure and discovering that true riches lie in love, friendship and generosity — especially if we do it with a bit of sparkle and silliness along the way.
We couldn't be more excited to share this show with you, and we hope you leave the theatre with a smile on your face and a bit of magic in your heart. We wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
