The Folkestone-Hythe Operatic and Dramatic Society's Youth Section presented Bugsy Malone on 20-21 April 2023 at The Tower Theatre, Folkestone. An amateur production presented by arrangement with Faber Music Ltd on behalf of Warner/Chappell Music Ltd.

Foreword

Thank you for coming to the FHODS Youth Section Performance of Bugsy Malone, it means a great deal to all of us.

The classic mobster musical is being brought to life by an incredible group of youngsters. It takes a huge amount of time to put on a musical, and this talented group have done it within a matter of months, with 2½ hours each week on a Sunday. It is truly remarkable. They have directed it and choreographed it themselves, arranged and sourced all the costumes, designed the lighting and sound, and will be operating it during the show as well.

I can't reiterate the astonishing talent, passion and dedication enough for this group of young adults. They honestly blow me away every week, and I am so very honoured to work alongside them. I couldn't be prouder of each of them and what they have achieved.

My personal thanks go to Andy Hartley, Dan Smith, Myra Collingridge and Mike Chisnall, for the countless hours and valued support that they have provided for this show, and thank you to KYDS Youth Drama Society for the hire of their Splurge Guns. I'd also like to offer a personal thank you to our wonderful Chaperones, all the parents who have enabled this show to take place, the Front of House team, and you, the audience. We could not have done it without all of your support.

We hope you enjoy the show, the singing, the dancing and the splurging!
